My Roof Leaks. Do I really Need a New One?

by Cascade United Roofing

Maybe or maybe not. Often times a roof leak can be caused by damage to the roof from a tree limb or missing shingles. The result may be a roof leak, but that doesn’t mean that the whole roofing system needs replacing. The roof may only require a repair to a specific area, such as replacing a loose or missing chimney or sidewall flashing.

However, a complete roof failure,  such as an improperly installed roof system, poor or incorrect material choice for the roof pitch, or just plain material failure from age, is generally irreversible.

Most roofs when installed have a somewhat predictable life expectancy. Talk to a reputable roofing contractor before you sign up for a new roof. They will be able to tell you whether it makes dollar sense to repair or replace your current roof.
